In this episode, I reach the peak of the Dime Tower, make it back to the waterfall by Glaive Castle, and enter the Temple of Mana.

In case my in-video description wasn't thorough enough, here's how to easily get the rare equipment.

1) Fill up your item inventory, leaving your equipment inventory open.
2) Kill the appropriate enemy until it drops a chest.
3) Attempt to open it repeatedly, until it gives you the equipment you want. Ninjas drop Samurai Armor, Demon Heads drop Samurai Helmets, and Elephants (later) drop Aegis Shields.

The reason this works is because the game generates the chest's contents upon opening it. If your item inventory is full, the game will tell you, before doing so. If you keep doing this, the game will eventually give you the equipment.
